Lower School Religion
As our late pope, Pope Benedict XVI stated, “A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person. And a good Catholic school, over and above this should help all its students to become saints.” Religion is not just an isolated subject at Providence, rather it is incorporated into everything we do. Our classrooms exhibit this in both aesthetic and action. Our teachers aim to help each student to learn, love, and embrace virtue, with the ultimate goal of becoming saints. In addition, our Christ Companions Program combines students of all ages into groups led by our upper school students with a focus to further instruct students on a dedicated “virtue.” Included are readings, activities, and discussion to learn and promote this virtue. Lastly, we can do nothing without the assistance and grace of God, so students are given the opportunity for daily mass, weekly adoration, and monthly confession.
