Lower School Science

Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics are the main sciences covered in lower school. In Kindergarten and 1st grade, students focus on learning about the world around them, studying things they can see and touch and learning about their characteristics and behaviors. Starting in 2nd grade, students begin to study the forces and changes behind what they can physically see when they begin the study of chemistry. Students learn to use the scientific method and conduct various experiments throughout the year. This is continued through 6th grade where they are introduced to biology, earth science, and astronomy.
